Tour of the Newport Course
From the picture, you can see a series of lines, semi-circles and cones, and you might be wondering what those mean to you. These elements outline the 17 key range exercises that you will be required to demonstrate proficiency in to pass the course. Don't stress out though! We spend a good deal of the two-day riding course outside completing hands-on training.
This course is designed for those people who have never ridden a motorcycle before, or those people who have limited riding experience. The goal of the course is to prepare you, through the practice and repetition of these 17 exercises, to meet the challenges that come with riding a motorcycle. The final portion of the two-day course is to demonstrate that you understand the fundamentals of motorcycle riding by completing a written test and an on-motorcycle skills evaluation. Following the successful completion of these two evaluations, you will receive a completion certification which you will need to present to your local Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles' office where they will issue you your motorcycle license.
