Course Information

Applications will be accepted in the order by which they are received. If you'd like to take your class with a friend or family member, return your applications in the same envelope with a note telling us that you would like to be scheduled together. Specify at least three course date preferences; this is because the maximum class size is eight students and classes fill quickly. If we are unable to place you in any of the 2011 courses, we will send you a letter informing you of this along with your check for your deposit. Once we receive your application and your deposit, we will send you a letter which will confirm the date for which you are scheduled. Also included in this confirmation letter will be information on making your final payment for your course. Payment can be made by check or money order. Full payment must be received 14 days prior to the start date of your scheduled course. If payment is not received in this timeframe, you will forfeit your seat and your deposit unless you notify us at least 14 days prior to the course start date that you are unable to attend. In all cases, all money paid to Motorcycle One Stop Riding School will be returned if you provide us with at least a 14 day notice that you will not attend your scheduled course. If you do not provide us with 14 days advance notice, you will not be refunded any course tuition fees. After starting your class, if you are asked to leave because of safety reasons, an emergency arises, or you fail to pass the Basic Rider Course, neither your deposit nor any course tuition fees will be refunded.

The Basic RiderCourse:
(BRC) hours are from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The course offers a combination of hands-on riding and classroom instruction. We will provide you with a motorcycle for use throughout the weekend course in our large closed parking area. Your course instructors are Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) and State of Maine certified and will teach you the basics of riding. At the end of day two, your instructor will administer both a written and riding skills evaluation. A score of 80% or better on the written examination and successful completion of the riding skills evaluation will qualify you for a waiver of the Maine State motorcycle road test. Simply present the card you receive from your instructor to the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles and you will be issued your motorcycle endorsement.

BRC Course Requirements:
-Participants must be at least 16 years old. Parental permission and proof of driver-ed completion is required for all students under 18.
-All students, regardless of age or experience level, must attend all sessions in the two-day course and complete all requirements set forth by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) and the State of Maine in order to obtain a completion card
-You must have the ability to balance a bicycle
