A little of our history

Our instructors have a combined 40 plus years of motorcycle riding experience. In 2007, we decided to take our experience and teach fellow riders the basics of motorcycle safety. After becoming certified by completing an intensive Maine State and Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Rider Safety Instruction Course, we have begun work on our school's riding course. This course will offer riders, even those who have never been on a motorcycle before, the opportunity to obtain a valid State of Maine motorcycle license in just two days.

The two-day course prepares you to handle on-street riding; after the intensive sixteen hours in the training course, you will be confident that you really know how to maneuver your motorcycle in a variety of situations. This is accomplished mainly due to the fact that approximately half of the course is on-motorcycle instruction, while the other half is in-class training.

What does a two-day course cover?

* An introduction to motorcycle operation

* Protective Gear/What to Wear while riding

* Controls such as clutch and brakes

* Preparing to ride your motorcycle/pre-ride inspection of your motorcycle

* Street driving strategies from experienced professionals to avoid trouble and stay safe

* Straight-line riding, turning, shifting and stopping

* Cornering, maximum braking, and swerving

* Starting your motorcycle engine and shutting it down

* Slowing and braking to a stop

* Basic maneuvering of your motorcycle

* Riding in a straight line and turning, including lane changes and passing

* Shifting

* Avoiding objects by swerving correctly

* Riding safely, enjoy your motorcycle and avoid becoming impaired
